Summerhouse at Drag

The site is beautifully situated with Kalmar Strait in the south.
The client wanted a strong character for this project, which is partly remodeling and partly new.

We started with "the father's house", close to the sea and therefore built above the ground. Then we continued with the task of transforming a common summer house from the forties, to a modern interpretation of the traditional Swedish "red Stuga".

Sculptural volumes with reduced detailing and a facade painted in the Swedish tradition, with Falu Red paint.

The houses were nominated for the Swedish red paint price 2004, (Rödfärgspriset 2004) and has been published in the Swedish magazine Residence, the English magazine SPACES and the german magazine Häuser. It is also published by Links books.
